A: The first couple of sessions are spent getting to know what the problem(s) are. I ask alot of questions and get a history of your family, your symptoms, and ascertain the seriousness of your situation. Once I know what the problems are, we can work on how to go about making you feel better. We can work on a direction to take. I use a variety of techniques to help you - cognitive behavioral, behavioral techniques, insight oriented. I try to draw strength from within and help you to become more empowered and strong.
A: The course of therapy depends upon your situation...how severe, what do you want to accomplish. Some courses of therapy are very short term and others are longer term. Each case is different.
A: If you have a legitimate reason and give me sufficient notice, cancellations are usually not a problem. However, if you do not come for a session, and do not call at least 24 hours in advance, I have to charge you for the session. This charge is not covered by insurance.
